Update on my work – New book title, what I’ve been up to and more

I am writing this update with a bit of delay, and I want to offer my apologies. I published my first book, “The Girl That Danced With Spirits,” four months ago now, and I initially imagined myself doing monthly updates. However, somehow, I am not delivering, so I am overdue. I will try to highlight the more important happenings, though!

I am just past the halfway point of my next book, which is a prequel. I am very satisfied with my improvements and my pace of work. I feel I could write a bit more, but I don’t want to push it. I’ve also been busy with real life, and my mornings have been a bit inconsistent at times. Still, when I sit down for a solid hour or a half and write and get into it, I feel frustrated having to stop because I need to leave for work. This hasn’t changed, but I can appreciate this feeling and look forward to it because I am fortunate to have work and other responsibilities. My next work is still not titled.

I have been sketching some of the characters in a little sketchbook I’ve been bringing to work for my breaks and the odd free minute. Yes- I’ve picked up a filler hobby. I quit smoking (almost), and I have filled the gap with drawing. It’s been an old passion since my teenage years, and I am excited to create some illustrations for my next book. Though they won’t be too good, I will do my best to polish them and spend some extra time making them presentable.  I will share some of them here now!

I have been forced to disable the contact form here on my website. I am sorry, but since I launched this website 7 months ago, any form submissions I have received have been bots, spammers and scammers. Hence, I am disabling it. If you are a genuine fan, first of all – Hi! I appreciate you. Secondly, if you need to contact me, you can do so on my Facebook page just the same. I trust Facebook moderating robots and have been fortunate to have a lot less spam there.

As my life goes on, and I am now married and will be working with my beautiful wife and stepson towards a visa so we can be together. I may get busy and fall behind on my writing. But in the end, I have no doubt I will be on my keyboard punching in words. It brings me joy, it relaxes me, and it fuels my creativity. I have another work in mind already, but it’s too soon to reveal too much about it.

So much has happened in the past months that I could write thousands of words here alone. The most important thing is that I got married! I quit smoking! My next work is in progress! I am getting a bit fat! Haha, yes, my diet has been good, but a combination of quitting smoking and the approaching holidays has been doing me no good.

Now that “The Girl That Danced With Spirits” has passed its initial three months of publishing, I am no longer enrolling it in Kindle Unlimited. I want to explore a platform that can make it free in electronic format.

This post was delayed over the holidays, and some major updates happened. There is always something new and exciting to share. I will save most of it for my next post, but for now, I am excited to say my wife is pregnant, and I am very hopeful for the future!

Take care of yourself and see you soon!
